The biggest difference is therefore price versus availability. Classic usually wins on points. Classic Plus usually wins on choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"how-is-classic-plus-pricing-calculated\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Is Classic Plus Pricing Calculated?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the most important thing to understand about Qantas Classic Plus Flight Rewards. There is no fixed award chart. Qantas&#8217; current terms say the number of points required is based on the lowest commercial fare available at the time of booking, but also specifically state that there is no fixed relationship between that commercial fare and the number of Qantas Points charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means you cannot say: Sydney to London always costs X points with Classic Plus. The price can change. A flight during a quiet travel period could require fewer points than the same flight during Christmas, school holidays, or another high-demand period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Classic Plus prices can also drop when Qantas cash fares go on sale. Qantas itself recommends looking during sale periods because lower commercial fares can lead to better Classic Plus pricing. This is why Classic Plus should always be evaluated using the live price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"why-did-qantas-introduce-classic-plus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why Did Qantas Introduce Classic Plus?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Availability. Classic Flight Rewards can provide strong value precisely because Qantas releases only a limited number of seats at the fixed reward rates. On popular international routes, especially in Business and First Class, those seats can disappear quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Classic Plus gives Qantas Frequent Flyer members access to a much broader pool of seats. Qantas introduced the product with the intention of making millions of additional reward seats available and eventually expanded it across its domestic and international network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That does not mean every cash seat becomes available as Classic Plus.
